Science of Swara Yoga: it's importance and Applications
The Influence of Swaras:
Swaras and main Nadis have a mutual and direct relationship with each other. It is a perfect balance of Nadis that keeps the energy centers efficient and endocrine glands active.
If one works after carefully comprehending the influences of Swaras on the body and mind, he can easily achieve the desired success.
When the Chandra Swara is active, heat decreases in the body. So, if the chandra Swara is activated during some heat related disease (fever or febrile diseases etc.), it can be cured faster. A person remains healthy only when both the Swaras are balanced and run alternatively for equal period of time according to the needs of the body.
There is more heat during the day than in the night. So maximize the flow of Ida Nadi (Chandra Swara) during the day for good health. Similarly, there is greater cold at night than during the day. So, by balancing it through activation of the Pingala Nadi (Surya Swara) one can get the benefit of a sound sleep at night.
If the Chandra Swara flows more during the day and the Surya Swara during the night naturally, the person is usually long-lived.
According to Swami Shivanandaji, "One whose Chandra Swara flows throughout the day and Surya Swara throughout the night becomes a great Yogi."
